Thanx for the help mack.Im only running a single francis(was a 5000 trucker just switched in hopes of less noise with a fiberglass whip) antenna with belden rg8x and good SWRs so never thought it was a ground issue.Dont know anything bout counterpoise though?

Already tried mack and no difference.Just frustrated at this point know what I mean.On another note yesterday seemed to be different ALOT more like normal only heard the noise a couple times over the course of day with the wet roads and all dont know if that was related to less radio traffic...

Radio is a magnum s3.By chance where is the power supplied from to the roof mounted power points?I noticed when the headliner was down that the 2 wires coming off the power points lead to a small white connector which had a tag that read cb.I could not follow any further due to all the wiring up...

I have a Francis stainless stud do you think that would work?Im not useing that 5" shaft version so I wouldn't think there would be too much stress on the mount although coming from a 2000 its definately heavier.

Well I can't seem to get the 3ft wilson to tune at all swr are throughthe roof no matter what I did.Is there a way to tell if antenna is way short/long cause won't that cause high swr?I put the 4ft k40 on and got swr down to 1.3 on all channels.I will run it for a few day's and see what...

Ok Iv'e decided to try a 3ft wilson fgt and a 4ft k40 power whip to see what difference thanks all.
