    a swing mod (more involved)

if you can post those, i would love that. im gonna try to get ahold of one of my friends who has the 66xl. I would like to see the horrors of my work 10-12 years ago

laz. yes i was trying to remember his name

and yes, 470 uf is the key on cobra chassis rigs

    a swing mod (more involved)

yea, i might just exclusively with this method. pulling the driver jumper and doing the NPC that way even on a 29 leaves a flatline across the middle of the scope, even with the limiter set to clip. its only less-worse on them models than other chassis rigs that i've tried that with for some reason

    a swing mod (more involved)

if i remember correctly i was a part of that thread initially and ummm, cbtricks forum? i remember the guy was a pretty high-level tech, forget his handle. so theres a pc66xl with an rfx75 and a couple of uniden 510's kickin around with this in it that i did up. the 66 had a hi-lo swith on the...

    a swing mod (more involved)

there it is! annnd i realised the typo on my schematic C1 is a 2.2uf for the drop-off delay

    a swing mod (more involved)

its been about 10 years since i tried this, and i used a tip120 for the envelope expander so i decided to upgrade that to a to-247 type for this go-round. what i want is a nice clean waveform on the scope and a 1/2 watt dk

    a swing mod (more involved)

so i have done this on radios in the past with a TIP120, and i got some wicked clean swing from it from when i tried this 12 years ago. I have ordered some bigger darlingtons, gonna give it a whirl again because only a few chassis do the TIP120 variable DK gracefully. this is a little more...

    cobra148f issues

guy told me he quickly hit it with reverse polarity, the sacrificial lamb diode didn't pop. now it doesn't move from something like 27.565.

    Base Double Extended Zepp

the EDZ is great. do it. i have converted all my outdoor feedline over to balanced feed using a 9:1, 450 ohm, and a folded dipole hung vertically in a big pine. For my west coast antenna, i plan on making a 4x phased array of 1.25~ doublets like the EDZ between 2 90' pines with 600 ohm. no...

    Don't be afraid of ladderline

ya know, i didnt think the diff would be drastic but i got more than 1s unit on all the locals a little farther out. this is just supposed to be a one-off experiment for sh1ts and giggles and it ended up being my full-time base antenna

    Don't be afraid of ladderline

so how i keep the shape of a folded dipole was to wrap it lengthwise across 2 sections of PVC conduit to make it easier to hang vertical. so far i have not encountered any other CBers going this route.

    Don't be afraid of ladderline

i had some coax on the shopping list but this was just a very successful experiment and i now cannot justify the cost of that long of a run of LMR600. i want some other people to mess with it, maybe optimise it some. a folded dipole is resonant, but at about 200-300 ohms so most people use a...

    Don't be afraid of ladderline

close enough for govt work i guess. no higher than a 1.5:1 across 3+ band segments

    Don't be afraid of ladderline

because it's what i had laying around

    Don't be afraid of ladderline

got rid of the 150' run of rg8x into the big pine tree but instead of dropping an arm and a leg on lmr600, i decided to give a folded dipole and 450ohm windowline a try. running a 9:1 3kw balun right behind the radio room. dropping the feed loss from 42% to 5% is HUGE. so no more coax outside...
