Haven't Heard that one yet. I just get the multiple 1111111 guys, the air raid siren, the crying baby, the Fox news simulcast, & the auuuuuuuuddioooooo army. Today there was also a recording of some guy saying "I wish I had a big radio" over and over. Yesterday there were 1111111 guys on both...
I find people using LSB on 16 from time to time. There is an especially active group in the Great Lakes area that I often hear.
Of all the channels we've tried in this manner 16 LSB was the one I made the most WWDX contacts on. 35 & 40 are both very noisy on the west coast of N.A. (35LSB is...
That's a big bummer blowing your amp JJ! Hopefully it can be put back in service without too much hassle.
I notice my Palomar 200 does run a lot hotter on FM. Nothing the fan can't take care of though.... I can have a long blab-fest on FM and while it gets good and warm it's never too hot to...
Not something I would worry about. The chances of some other component failing first are pretty good............
Don't overvolt or overheat the radio, watch your SWR, be careful if you're driving an amp with it, and that radio should last a long long time.
I've never, not once, heard FM on the regular 40. My experience with FM is that it works much better than you'd expect, but only on a relatively interference-free frequency. It's not very compatible with SSB and AM modes being used on the same frequency at the same time. I suspect that once...
Curious why you would need to swap out a capacitor in an almost new radio? Cap replacement is usually something that happens after 30 or 40 years when the old ones start to dry out......... If you are having issues with a 955HPC+ it is VERY unlikely to be a capacitor issue.
In answer to...
As Brother DXer said, there already is an FM channel..... 26.805 has actually been the FM call channel for decades but has only seen widespread usage in the last few years. I've talked to over 100 stations on there in a couple of years with just 150 watts and simple antennas. I talk regularly...
Exactly! I've noticed a lot of posts lately, often from new folks on here, where it's painfully obvious that the person hasn't read the thread before commenting. And also a lot of comments on very very old threads.....people really need to start looking at the date of the last post, and if the...
Is that in the same city as Qixiang (maker of Anytone radios)? I have heard Aquario radios are produced in the same city but at a different electronics factory.
With all due respect that seems completely backwards to my way of thinking. Your down in a "stinking" valley and can't get out on DX. Surely upgrading the antenna in some way is the obvious solution to the problem at hand? What approach were you hoping for to solve the problem? Just throwing...
Maybe I got premium membership by accident LOL! Shhhhhhhhh.... don't tell anyone; I like not getting any ads!
I wonder if it is because you are on a phone and I am using a PC?
M0OGY just posted this review of the newly released Aquario RP-70 mini SSB/AM/FM radio. I have heard that it is likely to be un-cheap. I've heard US$400 is the probable price point. Considering it is only 7 watt AM/FM and 15 SSB it will need at least a small amp for most folks applications...
