I just changed my original question. Hoping for more friendly, adult answers now. Or, none at all.
It don't matter to me.
I'm only here for knowledge and learning.
Some of you may think my questions are stupid. If, so then, please don't answer.
Keep it to yourself. Thank you.
I'm sure there's...
For those of you who may think I'm stupid, please keep your comments to yourselves. I'm only here to learn and read and occasionally, comment. I'm not an "Expert", like some of you who think you are. That's why I'm here. If I can't get a human response, I'll go elsewhere.
Mark me off your list...
Go ahead. Make fun of me. I can tell several of you don't like me but, that's fine. I'm a grown Man. I can take it. Those who wanna be cute, please don't answer me. It won't hurt my feelings any whatsoever.
I actually meant the 955HP, fyi.
That's a good thing, AudioShockwav. In my case, nearly 4 inches had to be trimmed. But, it's still quite a bit taller than me, shaft and stinger together, and I'm nearly 6'2".
AudioShockwav.
Are those reflect readings I took today, the ones I mentioned above, normal, or ok? I've never had a meter that showed reflect readings until I got the MFJ so, I'm not really familiar with "reflect", and what the readings should be.
Well. I had to trim nearly 4 inches off the Predator Whip to get the swr down. As it is right now, it is
1.04 swr on channel 1 with 0.02 reflect.
1.15 swr on channel 40 with 0.05 reflect
1.09 swr on channel 20 with 0.03 reflect.
All readings with an MFJ-845 digital meter that shows output...
Well the Lincoln puts out about 35 to 45 I believe. That's what the meters indicate anyway. And what President says themselves. I turn the rf power and mic gain down when I check it. Out in the middle of a field with the nearest houses or power lines at least 150 - 200 yards away.
Right at 1.4 on 20. I believe another quarter inch or so and I'll get there. And that's with the stinger flat on the bottom. Imo, that will be a good thing. In case the set screw EVER does loosen it can't slide on down. But, I always keep a good eye on these set screws. When I get it set, I may...
Well, got my Predator 10K down to a 1.2 on channel 1 and 1.5 on 40. Going to trim a bit more today and I'm fairly certain I'll get it down, at least very close, to a perfect match. That's what I'm shooting for anyway. Got it mounted on the drivers side top bed rail about 8 inches behind the cab...
Not yet. I think I'm gonna have to trim it a bit. Showing SWR 2.49 on channel 1 and 2.84 SWR on 40. Using 2 MFJ SWR meters. 1 analog and 1 digital. Both very close to each other. I believe I've read other post's here where others had to trim their stinger on the Predator 10K.
