I think my station was hit by lightning. My s9 will only produce 1/4 watt dk and 1/2 watt of swing, and that is with the the top gun on. I have no audio on ssb, but I can transmit and the needle moves on recieve.
What do you think happened, and what is needed for repair?
I have an astron 50 amp power supply, and need more amperage. I have a transport size battery that I would like to hook up to my junction point.
( power supply, amplifier, and now battery ) The battery would provide the extra amperage. My question is would the power supply act as a battery...

Why don't you tell us what your maximum swing is with the top gun off, and the dk at 2 watts. I run an s9 into a class c 1x4 with great results. My s9 at 1 watt dk only swings to around 10 though. All I'm saying is not all radios are cranked wide open. Heck my Galaxy 99v only swings to 8 watts...
