I have an essentially new, never put up, Maco M103C for sale. I was going to put this up last september and even half assembled it and everything but it just didnt make it up to the roof. So this is ready to go, half assembled, less work for you to do. Stock gamma. It has been outside since...
Skullcracka 2-2290 amplifier for sale. Very rare amplifier. no fans, heatsink cooled (can add a fan underneath if you wish). Comes with power pole connector for easy power connection. Got it from someone on this forum a couple years ago. You wont find these come up that much anymore, its taken...
Skullcracka Deluxe (2)-2879's amplifier for sale. Very rare amplifier. Comes with power pole connector for easy power connection. You wont find these come up that much anymore, its taken me many years to just collect all the skulls I own (and have just sold).
Does similar wattage of other...
The cobra 2000gtl is not the same board as the 148gtl. Its more like a 146gtl. Everyone thinks the cobra 2000 is a 148gtl or grant xl in a larger box with freq counter and power supply and its really not, though it does very much resemble the 148gtl/grant xl.
Full Wave Antenna
Hi Dan,
What about the antenna I sent back that was a full wave mr.coily custom antenna and did not work here (at 1.1 match?) and you disappeared in thin air and I have had no response in over a year now after spending $1000 on this antenna!!!! I want a fully working full...
I want to put up a 4 element beam for horizontal base station to base station and DX usage when that starts happening again.
Beam will be on top of house on 5ft tripod with 10ft mast. no rotor will be used, I will point the antenna at the other base station for now and then when skip comes in...
I have all the mods you pretty much have, as I do my own mods since I am a competent technician.
If I can figure this surge thing out, I will be happy, it has be a cap or something! I want to drive some big boxes with the radio but dont like the way it responds on keyup...
All the cobra 2000's I have seen have a keyup surge. When you key up the mic, the power shoots forward and comes back very quickly to the deadkey. I see this on my RMS BIRD meter. Any one know a fix how to stop this surge. a certain capacitor??
Thanks
OK Isolated More and more preamp circuits....
and I found the problem!
I isolated TR22 and circuit, no noise.... ok moved toward the front....
so isolated the next circuit, which is TR23 and parts (by lifting R124 out of the circuit path).... and voila ! Noise!
Saw that TR23 is a...
I know what I am doing, I am a completely competent technician, I just dont work much on CB gear.
Ok, lifted pin 1. Noise stopped!
So we know that its either Audio chip area, or beforehand mic preamp circuit or such.
OK NEW DEVELOPMENTS!
Removed C110 and C46 (both caps carry mic...
Hi,
I will try this tonight. (lifting pin1 of audio IC chip to turn it off)
This noise is ONLY on AM transmit only. SSB is clean. Also RX is clean, so this noise has got to be in the audio chip area, as looking at the schematics, the TA7222 chip is only for AM audio, and the SSB audio is...
Hi,
I have the radio powered off the Astron VS-70M for testing purposes.
I now key the radio with a 5pin mic plug jumpered to make it key when I stick it in the mic plug.
I still have the noise in this configuation.
Hi,
I checked the internal power supply, and also, I connected the 2000gtl to a Astron VS-70m and powered the radio by that and the noise was still there.
I can rule out a problem with the internal power supply.
Thanks!
Got a stock Cobra 2000gtl. When deadkeying, (and the mic gain all the way down, or at any setting for that matter) I get a air noise or whooshing noise that makes me sound like I am in the mobile or something. I tried 3 different mics (and with the Mic Gain all the way off), and concluded that...
