Ive got a cobra 29 lx and a rci 2950 and only 1 antron. The 29 is for 11M and 2950 is 10M. Is a duplexer what i need to operate both radios on 1 antenna? And, does the (Radio) im not using, need to be OFF? Or does it matter?

my 29 lx le with rfx 75 only shows 55w on the dosy4001, i run my dk @2w and swing 55w using a ts dx500v with no problems. 2w dk, shows 160w dk on amp, and swings to 600w. Not sayin this is right or wrong, but thats my set up.

AMEN TO THAT! ive got ignition noise and alt whine from my vehicle, and even when someone drives within 25ft of me i get there ignition noise as well. As soon as they turn engine off the noise stops. ANY trades for a 2950dx(black screen) LOL

thx for the input. I cut a piece of 10 guage wire about 78" and inserted it with a 3/8x24 bolt and hung it from a tree. The SWR with radio at 2w swingin 45w, is 1.5 at 26.965 and 1.2 at 27.555 and then back to 1.6 at 28.500. But still gonna find an antenna so it can be mounted instead of hung

A friend gave me an antron 99 bottom and mid section. Can a 6`or 8`francis whip or firestickor even a 102 steel whip be used? Or would it be better to find a top section?

This only happens when the amp is in line, no matter if its on or off. AM is perfect, with amp on or off. I purchased this radio from copper electronics and on recieving it, i noticed the am carrier ranges from 1-26w. I called them to see why so high(should only be 15w for the RFX75) and he...

I recently built a jpole for 11meter from 300ohm twinlead and 12g copper wire. Radio with 30 watts had a 1.3 swr and about 1.7swr on 10 meter, and have made many dx contacts. 1/2wave`s are a bit long on 11/10 meter about (27ft). BUT curiosity wants to know if anyone has built a 1/4wave jpole...

Did you get your swr issue figured out? Mine does the same with the amp on. Cobra 29 lx/le with rfx75, texas star 500v, dosy 4001 meter, and a 54" open coil antenna. Radio @ 2w dead key is 1.2 all 40 channels. Turn amp on, over 3 but swings back when modulating. Everyone says "sounds good"...

Not sure what to look for but all i could find was singles. Maybe i can do like the other post and get a 5 tone and turn 2 or3 off. Thanks everybody.

I run a texas star dx500v would this radio be to much for the amp even on a 1-2W dk? My vehicle puts out 14.8V, so DK at is lowest may be about 2-3w. And i will use ssb on 10 meter since ssb uses no dk, would the radios power still be ok for the amp? MAN, I WANT ONE! IT HAS EVERYTHING I WAS...

Im lookin at the same problem! The radio has variable 2-15w dk and swings 70w and swr is 1.2 all 40 channels. With ts500 the swr goes to 3.0 and swings back. Is something wrong?

anyone know where i can find a 2 or 3 tone roger beep, for a cobra 29lx le? The radio shops ive contacted all have single or 5 tone. Or which base radios had the 2or3 tone rb, that may can be installed into the 29lx le.:confused:

Thanks Sir Wichback , just curious about 11M. I just listen when traveling. I may be lookin at one of these radios then. BTW, I have a cobra 29lx/le with a rfx75 and love it, but still cant beat the older ones.

Does this radio (receive) the 11 meter band? Or be modified to receive/transmit 11 meter? :huh: I have an 11M, i use for highway travel, but if can have my cake and eat it too! Why not.
