I went through the same decision making process a while back... I chose the Yaesu FTM-350.

I've been waiting for an update to this thread... From what I understand, the Gtrans cable plugs into the data jack on the base of the 350AR?
If so, this poses a problem for me as my radio is mounted in the trunk. I would have to redo a lot of the work I have already done during the install...
I would recommend the Yaesu FTM-350AR. Great mobile rig! Easy to setup and use.
It handles APRS very well - except as someone else pointed out, it does not digipeat. No big deal! It's something I can live without... it's more of a nice to have feature.
