I thin the Realistic TRC 453 was a pretty good radio, not a whole lot could be done with them but they were a great sideband radio, it needed some sort of amplified mic to help with the modulation but all in it was a pretty good radio

I think that coil would be pretty big for the tubing of the pole cat, well it looks like it would be, the Pole Cat is a 1/2 wave but looks like it's a 1/4 wave but isn't, just looks like it.

999, I had a 10 KC switch on the bright/dim switch, Big Kahuna, does that VFO work like a VFO as it goes from one end of the band to the other or could still use the band knob, i know it is only 3 bands, that may be easier to use to use and how wide does the VFO go, is it more than 1200 KC.
