    Huracan MK2

I have the original Huracan HR-07-NZ. It would be a brilliant radio except for the frequency drift, the receiver rivals my FT2000D and the TX is great on AM and SSB. If they can guarantee the MkII is stable I would buy one in an instant. Here is a video of the receive: Scotland to Australia...

Hi Guys, how far does the coarse clarifier slide?

    GE Superbase common bugs.

Clean ALL switches and pots. Pay particular attention to the A/B antenna switch. Check dual board interconnectors (white plugs) but be careful with them.

    madison update,help needed

And while you are in there, spray some WD40 into the pots whilst twisting them around, but don't forget to take the face off first. Also use some compressed air and a clean paint brush to blow the board down with care. I just got a President Washington (858) myself and had similar probs, as...

    new/newer radios

Yes, it seemed like that at times and there was a fair amount of QSB as well. As I said, not a scientific test by any stretch of the imagination. Just a bit of fun really, to pit one radio against another. :)

    new/newer radios

Yes, M42 is correct, the HR is old and may need an alignment also, it still transmits pretty good though, where the AT5555 power starts to fade as the mosfets warm up. Things like this (receiver audio) tend to be subjective, it is just an opinion after all. I like the audio coming out of the...

    new/newer radios

My Anytone 5555 works great and has a nice sounding receive also, better than my HR2510 on receive.

    Storm Tornado and Avanti Grande

Surely the Avanti is just another Anytone 5555 clone? Looks identical to my AT5555 save for the different decals/stickers. That guy in Romania is dreaming with those prices, the AT5555 sells for as little as $215USD (approx) : AT5555 V6 10M 11M Multimode Am FM USB LSB No USB Cable Latest Version...

Magnum 257 HP - Sideband TX problem.

Hi SSB has no carrier, so it is normal for there to be no bars showing when in this mode, you have to talk to produce the signal. It should not even show one bar when you are not talking, unless you have noise in the background, if not then you have another problem, perhaps the radio needs...

Thanks for all the help guys, here it is. The screws wouldn't line up in the middle, so used cable ties to keep it together.

    Magnum 257HP question to owner/users

The guy who sold it to me did a couple of mods, that he got from a tech at Magnum USA which are supposed to rectify the problems they have, I watched him do them. Time will tell if they work, but so far so good except for the heat generated.

    Magnum 257HP question to owner/users

Right, I went out at lunch time and bought 2x 12 volt 40mm fans, if i connect them in series and apply voltage that will make them go slower, am I correct?
