I refuse to shop at Home Depot! Even when I worked with a contractor at one of the THD MrDCs I spent my money at Lowes or other hardware stores. If I want a radio I'll look else where. :) I have enough CBs but if I wanted another one I would surely look into getting one of those.

Since I last read this thread I seemed to have noticed more trucks with CB antennas. :) I have a base station set up in my man cave and was trying to do some DX on AM and SSB. I never made any DX contacts myself but heard some locals talking as I was flipping through the channels. I talked to...

Only the city, Yankee folk talk like that down here in the south. Nothing says good old boy or country more than a CB antenna on the truck. Heck IMO a 4X4 truck looks "goofy" with out one. :D Seriously though it's not as popular as it once was down here but you still see some.

Get them to use no "sub channel(s)" as in PL tones or figure out the PL tones that correspond to the "sub channel" they are using. I came across a list some one else did but don't remember where or when. Try searching the web for the info. BTW the sub channels may not be the same from one...

Early in high school I tried using a 102" on a ball mount with no spring. I noticed the antenna kept getting loose a little. Then one time I hit a limb and it stripped the threads out in it. But with the spring I never had any problems with it. As for a SWR reading, with every 102" whip...

FWIW Some after market accessories have can screw with a Dodge. I bought a cel phone charger, plugged it into the auxiliary power source on the 2005 Dodge Dakota and all the idiot lights came on, on the dash and the truck ran funny. Turned the truck off, unplugged the charger and restarted...

I like it! Thank you for your hard work on it. I did a web site for my volunteer fire dept. and know it can be a pain sometimes getting every thing working right and displaying as intended.

Will they handle a large spring and 102" antenna off road on a 4X4? :) I've seen those at several truck stops near by the house and reasonably priced.
