But I thought you gave the 959 / 949 decent reviews on your web site. :)
I did consider the 979 when I was looking for a CB. But what sold me on the 949 was the larger fuller size, the side mounted microphone connection and the controls on it. It is the first SSB CB I've ever owned. I all...
I have a Galaxy DX959.
FWW I've only tried SSB once to try it out with my base station radio. The Galaxy sounded like Donald Duck on the base but was intelligible. The base station sounded nice and clear on the Galaxy.
The internal speaker on my Galaxy sounded horrible in my opinion and...
A coworker had a couple of Radio Shack BTX-122 radios he was willing to let go for about $15. He let me take them home yesterday to try them out and see what information I could find on them.
Both radios will power up but the PTT button on one works when it wants to work. However both radios'...
About two weeks ago I checked the SWR on my radio and was pegging out. I later cleaned the double threaded bolt that connects the Wilson Gum Drop Stud to the spring. Checked the SWR again and everything appeared to be working fine again.
I checked it again yesterday and noticed the SWR...
I never heard the lullaby but a few months ago I heard a broadcast out of Chicago or some other Yankee town out in that region. :D I think it was on 17? It sounded like the NOAA weather alert broadcasts but instead of weather it gave some sex offender(s) alert (name, descriptions and addresses...
If I was to mount antennas for two different base CB radios what would be the ideal distance (if any) between or separation between the two antennas? All though I'm not running any extra power now but I may want to, some time in the future on one of the radios. As of right now the radios have...
I assume you looked in the manual but I know on other radios I've used in the past if the battery doesn't seat right in the charger the charge light will blink like that. Try reinserting the battery and if that doesn't work then there may indeed be something wrong with the battery.
Not sure but the last time I searched for the Baofeng web site I couldn't find one. But the FCC database lists a form from them declaring the Vero version the same as the Baofeng.
How about something like Nextel or Southernlinc?
Check out your local radio shops for repeater information. They should also be able to give you information in regards to licensing frequencies. Two local shops where I live had had their own (licensed) frequencies and would allow some one to...
I found a small fuse panel at a Napa Auto Parts store and wired it up to the battery with eight gauge wire. I have a CB and a rechargeable flashlight connected to it for now.
Mine looks like this.
I would use the Wouxun, get a lapel mic or acoustic ear piece set up from Wouxun.us and wear the radio under neath your jacket, rain coat or around your neck or shoulder etc.
I'm still learning about radios but from what I've learned so far is these export radios need to be modified to work in the CB 11 meter band. Depending on the radio it could be as simple as cutting a wire or trace and or adding a jumper. Other mods use a plug a play style connections. So before...
