vr2 is the power on that radio if i am not mistaken, try turning that up a bit. and the modulation pot to 100%

you and i think the same way man. i got the Gen Lee in the truck right now, i was hearing some AM skip, so i thought "quick!! 38 LSB!!" the same second i thought "crap! no ssb!!" lol oh well. but ya the S9 and Omegaforce are great performers in all modes

since you can use the direct connect via any bluetooth earpice i am sure you can use direct connect thru this radio also. dont know what state you are in, but direct connect (earpiece or not) is the same as talking on a radio (microphone in hand), except you'd have to key the nextel and hold...

PTT is not used in cell phone communications. it is basically a glorified speaker phone of you speaking directly into the mic and hearing the other party via the speaker which has a considerably more amount of output wattage than your phone speaker. very good device for what it was designed to do

ya those old cobra/uniden radios really shine in their old age. i need another 148 GTL cuz i had to sell mine in a financial bind. i have a grant XL and that is a nice, trusty radio. never has issues and performs with the latest no doubt

ya i hear good things about them, i LOVE magnum radios. i think they produce a great product. I have the M1 which is discontinued, great rig....but if one of these ever presented itself i'd be all over it.

it did end about as best it could for the situation, there is a point there. not the ideal ending but it could have been worse

no analog swr meter, but it does have a simple digital system that can be used as a reference point

there's always a bad apple, after hangin out a while in the same place, eventually you can pick them out. i use the feedback systems alot also for forums or ebay. not a 100% deciding factor for me but it helps

a good honest seller/buyer combo is hard to come by these days, tho i do believe transactions run alot smoother between forum members rather than ebay seller to buyer. some just like to make others miserable sorry to hear about your situation, stand up guy tho to take it back and refund him...

My grant XL is awesome and would like a Grant LT someday....pricey now, but still made in the philippines which is a great aspect if you ask me

Sarkys and Radioactive dont impress me much, i dont care for their style of tuning, or customer service. I deal with RollingRadios out of VA, nice guy, always has time for questions or custom work, puts a heck of a tune on any radio, and keeps you coming back
