You’ll need to plug inside the radio a small connector that is usually provided by Ranger. They tape it to the bottom when new. But you will have to align & tune it once you plug it in and the radio becomes widebanded.

From the United Kingdom to the Reunion island was I believe my longest distance DX. I often get the US and the furthest I got there was Kentucky. I use a Ranger RCI 2995 DX CF with roughly 180W on peak SSB, an Astatic hand mic, and a Sirio 2008 Antenna perched on my roof.
