have you consider a connex 4800?

anyone tried a new wilson mic yet? they look well built but don't know how they sound. may have to give one a test talk.

yeah i knew it had 2 mic plugs seems like it would work good in a bigger pickup so both the driver and passenger could have a mic. what do you all think of the radio other than the cheap mic?

yeah the shure "shure" is sweet. i set the d-104 aside. i use mostly ssb and its very clear and natural sounding. is this a freak or do all the shure mics sound this good. you really don't hear to many people talk about them even in ham related forums?

i had an antenna just like the maco y quad given to me. not sure if its a maco or the older wilson model. just wondering if anyone uses this antenna and if so how they like it?

i had a beam given to me that looks exactly like a maco y quad but is at least 20 years old. was maco around back then if not anyone got any idea what it might have been called and who made it?

wow put one of these beauties on my 2980wx and what powerful clear audio. i was coming from a d104 desk mic and the shure is the better sounding of the two in my opinion. anyone gets a chance to give one a try i'd say go for it. now i just wish it looked as nice as the d104.

a little while ago i got a nice stock cobra 142 and i wanted to put some extra channels in it and tune it up abit. nomadradio took the time to answer some of my most silly questions and did it in very easy to understand directions. gave me some good hints on the expo kit and tuning it. its not...

if i leave out the choke do i still do all the other steps in the instructions?

try turning the squelch and rf gain if it has one.

Thanks nomadradio. if i get in trouble i at least have some backup here. i know i posted this twice but i myself never come here to the tech area because i don't have too much knowledge to share and thought maybe someone might see it in cb radios that would have some input. sorry everyone .

carl does this install also unlock the clarifier? it looks like it does.

i already ordered the expo 100 kit. does the kit unlock the clarifier also?
