I think i will actually do that. I just like the way the 949 looks more than the optima. I'll try to pull it and toss it on ebay in the next day or 2 and buy the optima after i sell the 949.

I put the cheap power meter i have on my radio. when on ssb and i key the needle jumps up about .25ish watts then drops back to zero. Im not sure if its a mic click causing that or if its something else.

Alrigt thanks. I was just confused. I didn't think it was supposed to chatter like that. I thought when you keyed up in ssb the amp would be sitting in a idle state just as it does when its not keyed, then when you would talk it would actually engauge the relay. Thanks for the help.
