    A99

Are you located near a coastal area (salt water close by) or something else that gets you out to the rest of the world? I'm almost dead center of North American continent and all of my contacts form a ring on my map of very similar distances from my QTH. Nothing in closer or out farther. Or have...

    A99

I've been scrolling through the "antenna" posts. I made it through the first 20 (of 212) pages and now my eyes are sore! I just can't look at any more! I found a few threads about A99 antennas, but most were from several years ago. I'm looking for anyone who has more recent experience with the...

    11 meter is very quiet?

That's kinda what I am hoping, based on what I have read. I can't wait to see! Time will tell, I guess. I just hope it doesn't cause my skip to entirely miss the US! Yeah I would like to make contacts farther out, but it would be a bummer if I lost the ability to talk where I have been able to...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Ok. Thanks. I just thought I'd ask. I'm curious to see what it will do for me when the DX comes back. I've had decent success without GPK, but all of my contacts are starting to form a "ring" on my map. East Coast, West coast, Gulf Coast, one in Canada about the same distance. Just wondering if...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Ah, so someone else with a ground plane on an A99! May I ask if you used it without GPK before with it? Was there a noticable difference? I recently added my ground plane but the DX slowed down before I got to really try it out properly. Thanks

    11 meter is very quiet?

Got it. So both near that north/south line then, right? Thanks

    looking for the right antenna

I'll second the A99 idea. I have one on a 15' mast on corner of my deck and have had numerous contacts on each coast as well as Yellowknife, NW Territories. It's supposed to work for 10 meter as well, I believe.

    11 meter is very quiet?

Thanks for that. Never knew about that before. Still learning! So, is that to say that the best opportunities are between stations which are both near the grey line at the same time?

    11 meter is very quiet?

Yeah, I figured it could be something like that considering the aurora were going pretty good for several nights in a row. I feel better about it most likely not being my setup.

    11 meter is very quiet?

Thanks for the welcome! It'll be fun to learn stuff from all of you! I'm not heavily into it with a huge set-up or anything, but I do enjoy making DX contacts when I can. I go by 999 North Dakota. Maybe we'll talk someday! Personal is Don. Maybe you or someone else can help with a question I...

    11 meter is very quiet?

New here. Just registered minutes ago. Looked for a forum because I wanted to see if others had experienced a slow down in DX lately. I thought maybe something was wrong with my set-up since I haven't heard DX for days, while a few weeks ago it was going strong daily. Sounds like others are...
