More than anything I was trying to get an idea of what to expect out of it and i think I've done that. I thank you again ... one and all who responded!
I thought I would try this one. I know it is a Fire Bird. The model is F100/BM. Just by the name only, someone else said it was a 2 tube linear capable of around 300 watts. This thing is small.... plus..... this thing has two transistors in it. I can not find any information about this...
BC, that Console V makes my third one. I have my original which has been recapped but I have been to lazy to align it, I have a spare parts radio that a guy sent me just for covering the shipping. I need to pull it in and put it on the bench and see what shape it is in!
As far as the CDE...
The 48 is a 23 channel SSB radio. I have not tried it. It did not come with a microphone and (according to the SAMS book) the mic has a remote volume control that works when you punch the "REMOTE" button on the front. It will work with a non-original mic you just can't mash that REMOTE...
If I do anything at all with that one it will most likely be to "fix it" if it is broke and align it to spec. This is just a fun hobby for me..... gettin' back to my electronic roots!
THank you for EXTREMELY quick work.
I have gone looking for it and found other models and see that you are right on the money. The faceplates all have that same look and the cabinet is red as well.
I just can't find anything on this specific model.... at least not yet.
Any idea what it will...
Dan, I need to ask a favor.
In that batch of radios I bought there is a Realistic TRC-24C. I do not have that one available and even CB Tricks does not have anything on this radio.
It would be in CB-65. If you have that one, could I get the whole package on the TRC-24C (It looks like they...
This is the "mystery amp" that came in yesterday's lot purchase. I don't see any "branding" on it... but it looks too "professionally done" to be home brew... but I don't know.
Does anybody recognize this thing???
Bob
late afternoon yesterday, searching for "CB RADIO" on the marketplace... an ad only 16 minutes old popped up showing 2 pictures of a ton of gear (several tubs with mobile radios, antennas, meters) and a small table with several radios on it..... all for $50. I made contact and she said it had...
Wow. Those things have gotten "up there"!!!! I have a 2SC1969 paired Magnum S9 and I didn't give anywhere NEAR that for it!!!!!!!
Is that what they are getting for them these days?????
I asked him if the item in the picture is the item he is selling......
he hasn't responded yet. It was only a couple of hours ago. It could be DAYS before he does.
But ...if he says yes.... I'm gonna be out of this house so fast.... I'll draw a 30" vacuum on the room I was in at the...
Then I ran into another ad.... $5.
The guy was describing an old "scanner" radio. Describing controls, describing the BNC antenna connector..... the received freq range..... ALL of it... described a scanner.
But the picture???? It was an MFJ-259B antenna analyzer and the picture showed...
I know how that works. A while back I bought a couple of Cobra 25's, a couple of Cobra 29's and a Cobra 21 (all 40 channel).... JUST FOR THE PARTS.
They were "ugly as home-made sin". Even if they WERE working.... THESE would be the "ugly puppies" that nobody picks to take home.
They are just...
sadly.... I don't deserve to have such 'mint' pieces in my collection.
('mint' coming from PAVE-mint ... which these seem to have spent a LOT of time there!!!!!)
[edited to add]
truly... I am the kind of nut that would like to have a radio like that 21 in my stash.... but not at $150. No way.
