Definitely old school for me. Base #1 is a Realistic TRC 465 with a Johnson desk mic. Base #2 is the Realistic TRC 490 seen in my banner. I bought it brand new in 1981. It been running with its Turner Super Side-kick ever since. My marine mobile is Cherokee AH-100 AM/SSB walkie talkie.

I definitely get bleed-over from AM17 and AM 15. But my skip log shows that the frequency where I have made the most contacts over the long haul is LSB 16. Remember also that some guys are still running those old 23 channels sets. LSB 16 lets them stay in the game.
Food for thought.
I've been looking over a few years worth of posts. It seems to me that the most successful days we've had promoting the informal WWDX CB nets were when we: (1) did it once a month and (2) pushed the LSB 16 option. I'm not saying other channels didn't work, but only that this combination seemed...
I was driving all over central and south Florida with my Cherokee AH-100 walkie talkie hooked up at my Striker 10K magnetic mount. The bleedover onto LSB 16 from AM 15 and AM 17 was pretty brutal at times. However, I did hear a Maine mobile station not too long after 1:00P.M. eastern. A few...

I think it was about two years ago when Brother DXer and his local radio community would hang out on FM 30. I hooked up my 40 channel President AM/FM walkie talkie to my A99 and talked with them several times from my QTH here in the lower Florida Keys. It was just my walkie talkie into my A99...
LSB 40 and AM 40 are both hopping. They are definitely causing some problems for me. But I'm not hearing anything on USB 40 anyways. It ain't my USB 40 day!
I was on USB 40 just after 1:00P.M. eastern. There was no USB 40 traffic to be heard. There was a strong station on LSB 40 that was bleeding over a bit.
A trip down a few channels revealed a fair but reasonable amount of traffic on LSB 37 and LSB 39. LSB 38 barely had anything going on. No...
At the top of the 4:00 o'clock hour I made contact with 226, 316 and 40 (mobile) in Ohio. Not bad for a barefoot Cherokee AH-100 SSB walkie talkie and a Starduster clone. The skip is fading in and out, but there are definitely periods where it is working for us.
Also heard 647 in W. Virginia...
