for whatever reason, the modulation from the Midland 40 channel Cybernet radio struggles so hard... I recapped the whole radio and that did nothing for it lol. You have to yell into the mic for it to do anything. 1st radio I am gonna sell off once I get around to it lol.
Its passed onto you. :) Just let us know of your progress when you get some time to get it restored. Even if its months or years down the road, no sweat. Just nice to put a piece of radio back into working order. (Like I did my 23 channel Kraco SSB De Luxe this time last year lol. Damn thing...
Passing the deal onto SuperLid, as earlier he messaged me that if it goes through, he wanted it. :P
Tis the season of giving, and I am glad to let SuperLid take the deal from you.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Hope He is doing ok... Time goes too fast.
I just got done buying the 350 variants for $200 a piece (including shipping). Maybe once I can actually get a bigger power supply I will try and buy that version... :)
Glad your radio is ok. :)
But as 9C1Driver suggested, set the SWR alert from 1.8 to 2.0. But from the get go, the amp being a 1x8, I still think that is just too hot even at 25 watts. Sometimes the SSB Audio is compromised. There is an article here on how to disable that first mosfet, then you...
I honestly don't know. Always depends on who you get to fix it. There was an older video on a Stryker that mikesradiorepair did that comes to my mind.

And this one:
I think pumping 25 watts into the KL-503HD is a bit much. Believe the amp still is a 1 mosfet driving 8. At any rate it probably zapped your Stryker.
The Stryker alone being a 100 watt radio, that is more than plenty to just have the radio operate happily by itself and let mother nature do...
Nice! I did get lucky finding it. I also lucked out and snagged a Palomar Skipper yesterday around noon. :) So both amps hopefully will show up sometime next week or the following. I think both boards may be different inside (The Magnum 2000 being older.), but overall the same idea.
So for...
Thank you all for providing great information. My mind recalled when you mentioned about turning down the mic gain and if the SSB audio gets worse, then the idle voltage isnt right. Maybe some day once I crack the amp back open I will just have to find a spot to get the relay to click over and...
Ohhh...... For whatever reason that amp sounded the same on air as the RM Italy 203P.... I was under the impression that Cobra 150 is not a true Class AB amp... Maybe I am wrong... :/
Just ran into the pictures of when I had my Cobra 150 amp opened up sometime either last year or the year before... But Though the board read A1, Is the circuitry there for it to be a true Class AB1?
