The mod was on my radios but I wasnt the one that did it, way beyond my knowledge and abilities. It was way back in 2016 or 2017 sometime, so the post detailing the arduino radio mods might be long gone, they are/were on the transmission1 site. Go there and look back in the radio mods...
Sent to your email address, let me know here if you get them ok. If google/yahoo/hotmail etc eat them, I'll put them into a cyberlocker for you.
First step in conversions is to find a switch that physically fits the radio. It probably wont match electrically but an eprom or micro can be wired...
Hatadi as a company and the switches they sold as a spare part are long gone. A tech will need to adapt one in. I know a couple that would have no trouble doing it, but if you are not in Oz the postage would be more than the price of the conversion. Post what country you are in and someone...
The roadstar RS-309 sold here was a 9 channel version (for the south african market, channels 19-27 only) but otherwise identical to the super jaguar. Early to mid 80's sometime. Easy to revert to a 40 channel model by replacing the channel switch which back then could be ordered as a spare...
Is it the same as this one?

If so, we have a scan of schematic and service manual. A bit crusty but readable, and better than nothing.
We had a couple of these boards made a few years back, about 1.5 inch square and goes inside the radio. One on a cybernet base and another on a cobra 148 side mike mobile. In both cases an extra 3.5mm stereo jack was added to give line out. Doesnt matter where the volume is set, the line out...
Here's how our tech told us to do it. Works well with shift the same amount in both directions and the 12 o clock position is at the exact center frequency.
1) The hot wire that originally fed rx only voltage is removed and replaced with a feed from constant 8/9v via a 100 ohm resistor.
2)...
No, you need 9.9568 to give you 40 below normal channels. But it will shift off center frequency every time you change channel, go up or down a couple of channels and you will have to reclarify to bring yourself back to 12 o clock position.
Arduino mod did not have this limitation but that mod...
We never had the mains powered one down here, probably too much work to change the transformer to suit the local 240v house supply.
The mobile version worked great but not much dx to be had when all the people interstate are waiting or calling on 35 (oz call channel since about the late 80s)...
Had one years go, thought it was a cybernet until i opened it when it arrived and found innards very close to the cobra and panther simba type dial readout 23 channel ssb sets.
13-893. One is listed on the local ebay site...
Local tech here made something along those lines for a 80 yo diabetic whos sight went so bad he could only tell dark from light and couldnt use a phone or computer, and could not see channel numbers on the radio, think it was a uniden grant. No talking numbers, but 1 short beep when he landed...
I mainly use it on receive. If splatter or bleedover comes crackling through the speaker because someone close or with big power is interfering a flick of the switch brings them in clear without having to click through the channels. I can then turn wideband off and change through the channels...
No, it receives on 15 channels at the same time when the wide band switch is turned on. If there are people talking on say 30, 33, and 38 they all come through clear at the same time, just like they are all on the same channel, if the modded radio is on any channel from 23 to 40.
Loz!
**** re-post from earlier thread on the same subject ****
Found this mod in an old GE A model we bought at a yard sale.
GE was rusted out dead beyond repair it had been in a wet barn for decades.
But built a new circuit as above and put it in a working cybernet base radio.
And it works real...
One mod from a year back on T1 for the cobra 29, gives low 40, high 40, 5kc shifter switch and 10kc shifter switch with $20 worth of ebay parts.

Two of them were my radios, one was a Hornet which is an aussie rebadge of the cobra 142 or 146, cant remember which one, the same method also works for the uniden washington and the side mike cobra 148 and other uniden made ssb radios with the 16 pin transmit mixer chip.
It involves seven...
Mentioned this tonight to them on t1, they said no request has been received by email, priv msg, or in the t1 forum.
Cant help with the technical stuff on method of operation it's way over my level, can pass you on their direct email address in a pm if you like.
They did a similar mod in my...
One of the local techs here did a Cobra 29 for one of their customers in the USA (they had to send a radio here 'cos cb radio down here is ssb only). Posted with all the technical details with pics (way over my level of understanding tho) on the trans1 forum. Cost was under $20 with currently...
The young 'un uploaded the video to youtube for me and the technical stuff about the base is on the t1 site, most of that stuff though is way above my level but radio works great bang on freq and no drift detectable by my ears, supposedly 1.5 hertz off but sounds fine to me...
