COBRA 2000gtl Not Receiving or Transmitting

Please help. I have a Cobra 2000gtl that has a bad problem trying to receive. it only receives when you jiggle a button or switch. And the modge needle swings but nothing on the S meter. Whats going on? This is so frustrating. If anyone has any tips:sad: or solutions please respond to this...
