How exactly does the "drive" adjustment on the front of this box supposed to be adjusted ? Because with 1/2 watt deadkey going in I can adjust the linear with that drive knob to the point the amplifier deadkeys at 500 watts, none of my other boxes do this with the drive adjustment ‍so am I just...

Perhaps polarity would make a difference in this case, I didn't try switching the wires

That is the one I tried Nomadradio and all it wanted to do was chatter, didn't work well unless I cranked up the deadkey

Last night I tried a 3 prong relay like what is in the Robyn radios and whatnot but it didn't like The tube as of right now has -70 vdc of bias, seems to be doing great but haven't used it alot yet but will keep a eye on that 6BQ5

Yeah, I kinda noticed the same, it puts out more than the average JB12 however I think it's going to run just fine without destroying tubes

I told ya all I would send some photos so I am and glad as I had to make some adjustments as the first caps I used were apparently to small and I wasn't for sure on the rule of thumb for the doubler but I originally had a couple 680uf 25v caps on the doubler because I had a bunch around but knew...

I believe this one is just a 2 pole Nomad, but the real issue is that it doesn't have any negative bias at all and there is no 50 VAC line available from the transformer, I had found a cut off wire and thought I was in luck but it was a 210 VDC line

I think I may have found a wire cutoff at the base of the transformer, I added wire to it so I may have my issue resolved hopefully!

If that's my only route I can take I may have to do that but there isn't much room to add another, would probably have to replace the one that I in it.

Hi there, I have this modulator that is alot like a JB12 that I am working on and recapping after opening the unit up I noticed that there is a pair of old camera batteries 22 1/2 volt that are being used for the negative bias LOL, I also noticed there is only 4 wires coming from the transformer...

It's working just fine now, the linear has all new HV caps, not really sure what was keeping it keyed up before, it only did it when I cranked up the variable power but for some reason I believe it was the brown wire coming from the transformer that goes to the power supply board as it seems...

Yep, got the socket and relay installed and the other two on the back configured properly and she is working great ! I guess those lights by the switch also come apart which I didn't know so I just replaced the bulb, made it simple ! Been replacing the meter lamps also, thank you !

There is a 3 pole and another 2 pole under the board on these that handle the HV transformers. Someone had modified this one I am working on and had a larger 3 pole in place of the ice cube however it is not functioning correctly is why I want to put it back to original and see what happens. Thanks

If I am not mistaken the old one was 3amp if ya can even see that in the photo but a larger one would be much better if it would fit beside the preamp relay I will check those out !. Also do you know if they still make these lights????
