I have been following this for several days. Mine will be fine, receive and transmit. Then it will jump directly to 24.xxx. Sometimes it will just begin to drift down to 24.xxx. 99% of the time I can bump it on the bottom of the case and it will jump right back in frequency lock. Can a bad...

Update on amp. Used 6 regulators instead of 3. Do each fan has its own dedicated regulator. Also used some aluminum plates for heat sinks. Replaced the one bad pill. Seems to work well. Thanks for all the advice. Greatly appreciated. Cheers!!!
What’s your opinion on the HGs? My thoughts was buy one of the China knock offs Toshibas and hope for the best. If that don’t work. I’ll save up for a matched set of HGs.
Correction 2 resisters on the combiner are smoking. And it’s being fed in the middle of the two that’s burned. That feed comes from that transistors.♂️
before I put the cover back on, I tested the fans with a12 volt power source. All 6 fans are toast. So it looks like it will be getting 115 ac fans. And that’s not all the collateral damage. I have 1 of the 2879 transistors that isn’t balanced. I’m sure they have been replaced already once with...
Awesome. I thought about adding a 110vac relay and triggering it from the main power switch to turn them on. However I would like to keep all the components original. Again y’all have been super helpful. Thanks again.
So initially as soon as the power was turned on the transistors that turn on the fans would smoke. Once I lifted the leg of those transistors my short went away. And the amp powers up fine now. I think those transistors for the fans are just switching transistors. I’m going to try and order the...
I did continuity test across ground to buss bar while the wires were disconnected. Their common so I have a short somewhere. Going to start removing components one at a time until I find the short. Thanks for your advice.
It is wired 110vac. I will have desolder the wires from the buss bar to test. I’m scared I’ll pop something else. Looks like it’s using two separate transformers on individual setup. I plan on removing the wires and testing the voltage on them later tonight. Just needed to know what I should be...
