I believe it is the 120 to 130 percent audio. As stated jacked up audio. The cobra 29 front end is wide open as a barn door.
It can take it. The ts 50 cannot.
The ts-50 has no rf gain. i wish it did.
The newer stuff has the rf gain. like the 480 sat/ hx
I would like to hear one on AM.
I wish kenwood would build a AM mode only rig. I would buy one.
The ts- 50 has much cleaner audio on tx than the cb does.
Of course its my opinion, Most...
I have tried that . It must be the nature of the radio itself.
I sent it to cliff at AAVID in Texas the kenwood man.
He done full alignment.
Have you run the ts-50 on AM ?
Also could you explain the filtering. The cobra 29 dont have this problem.
The ts 50 on has 2 settings the 2.5...
Preach it. .... If my ts-50 front end wouldn't overload i would be running it.
If the truckers could hear what they sound like on the ts-50 AM mode they would throw them out the window...... It only takes a few miles of listening to pick out the nasty signals.
Why dont the hf rig...

Best amp man in the country.
Rays Cb shop ( 870 )...
Yes , i agree i had a similar set up only both antenna were isolated from ground.
It worked ok but as you say not as well as the single grounded antenna.
That is the key. Theory has to be put aside , if it works go with it.
Very wise comment Homer BB. I am with you on that .
It makes a very effiecient system.
Tune for maximum smoke and match for best results and you will have an effiecient system.

Yes , as bob aa4pb stated above . It is a 5ft firestik cb antenna, it makes no differnce it depends on the antenna system.
CTR hit the nail on the head with this statement.
