He did the same thing to Hard Drive. I’m not a fan of either guy but come on Porkchop, you’ve been around long enough. The “smart ones” share stuff all the time. The greedy ones are the ones who get their feelings hurt and hide. If their intentions were genuine then being criticized wouldn’t...
You do not like being confronted as seen in your previous behavior. If you’ve been doing hifi mods for a while then exact values are not given rather a range as each setup is different. Do we have to sweep each radio to prove to you the results? Nope. I’m not out to prove something or sell...
I feel like the mic preamp and forward stages has a lot of gain and audio shaping built in. From mild to wild a lot can be done on these chassis albeit on the SMD level
My original reply was that I had posted the Lincoln 2 mods for it which share the same board. I also wasn’t the first to figure it out not only one lol

I dislike the way they did it but not the idea. Anyhow they replaced R21 1.2k with a 1k Pot and 500 or so ohm to ground labeled it RF Power. I’d rather they did the R174 mod and 10k pot there.
The 520e seemed really close . This guy came up with a cool circuit. Glad you got it figured out

If you know of a good shop to do your radio, you could do the adjustable deadkey mod like the cobra 29 JP36 variable dead key mod. I don’t have an 18 in front of me so if there ain’t a Jumper available, they need to cut a trace and install the mod there
the problem is the lack of schematics to call out part numbers to change. So you'll have to do a side by side comparison against a 29 for the part numbers. Match the 29 location to your 76 and swap.

Not much schematic info online, some of the Lafayette rigs were Cybernet chassis. A Telstat Base I worked on once has that funky VCO sealed circuit . No matter how much I adjusted it , receive and TX was low. Long story short, electrolytic cap sealed in epoxy in the VCO block likely culprit. Not...
