He is calling out the EU version...
Isn't that radio Pin-head-FCC type Accepted?
if it is Type Accepted on this side of the pond, it may not be able to be modified for Wide Band use (because that makes too much sense)
Just FYI.
This is basically the same setup I run for a Base.
Built a basic Ground Plane with a 102" whip and 4 wire radials.
When propagation is working, I have no trouble getting out..
It is mounted on my high roof, about 30' AGL, and it is quite indiscreet
Or go Freebanding.
QSY is the Norm there. You call on 27.555 USB, make a contact, and jump to another freq if the other operator is so inclined.
Another thing about SSB on the FCC 40....
Why does it seem that 99% of the operators do not know that they can use the other side of the carrier...
Oh, I understand completely... I ruin studio gear on SSB and have a healthy collection of studio mics... but I haven't dropped that much coin on a CB Mic.... yet... :cautious:
Thank you for posting that up.
Are you sure that is the correct schematic? Is the any more to the circuit?
Like where does the line go above R5?
Where are the 2 jumper pins that can be shorted to boost the bass?
Thanks for taking the time to post it up!
EDIT:
Another thing, the SL-41 runs...
I can believe that...
I think that setting is mainly for the European FM users, because in AM, a 8 watt carrier versus 4W ... well, the juice isn't worth the squeeze, IMHO
I have noticed it is a chore to get these to modulate the 8W carrier in AM on the high power setting...
But in truth, 8W vs 4 watts carrier isn't worth it on the RX end, if you want to be stronger, get a better Antenna setup, and put an amp behind it...
I have a couple extra CBs (who doesn't) and a spare SDR Dongle...
I have been looking at Panadapters and was wondering if anyone has used an SDR as a Panadapter on a CB radio... Export or normal FCC legal.
I believe you are required to wire it straight to the IF Output of the victim with Coax...
