Tram D201 40yr/100 Mile Restoration Done Right

Here is a list. This is from 2600 about 15 years ago. I hope he doesn't mind me posting this. I blacked out some of my scribbling. It's for the 40 channel model but 95% will pertain to the 23 channel.

    NEED Tram D201A Channel selector

Whenever one takes any type of switch apart it's best to mark the sections so it can be reassembled correctly. I always just draw a line diagonally across that type. One could also number or letter the sections.

Realistic trc 457 458 extra channels

If done correctly you can use 4 switches or a rotary switch and have no channel skips including the "A"s for 399 channels. But since the radio doesn't do 10 meters well without some more work, 3 switches or the rotary one will get you 299 with no skipped channels.

LSB/USB ending frequency for alignment ???

Also it's important to know that the counter is accurate meaning that it has been calibrated recently or you will never know if the measurements you are taking are correct and you could be making the radio worse.

    Cobra 2000 GTL

Like TM86 said that cable for the PH163 style is the one. Belden/Volex model #17280 or Alpha 543. Belden/Volex model #17952 or Alpha 544 will work also. (The only difference is that they have the hot and neutral wires reversed.) The later built Tram D201 and the D201A used the same cord. They...

    Tube Radio Question

As far as a true CB radio they will be 40 channel radios and would say the Browning MK IVA, Tram D201A, and the DAK 10. Circa 1978-79.

    SPT-500

The manuals for the pre 1977 Penetrators set it to 22' 9 1/2". When the 40 channel radios came out in 1977 the length was shortened to 22' 6" to make it centered at channel 20.

DAK MARK IX parts identification question

L303 is also used in the cobra 19 as L202. It is listed in the parts section as Dynascan # 0460399008. I took a look at Ken's Electronics site and saw everything but that one. It is a Toko LA series part. I think it may be listed as LA 154 but he shows no price for it so he may not have any but...

DAK MARK IX parts identification question

L303 and L302 both are the same and have 340012A stamped on the side of them. The parts list in the owners manual shows the same number. The caps are just regular electrolytic caps but with 3 leads like you said. Only 2 are used + and -. There are 3 of these 47mf 450v caps in the radio. If your...

    RF meter sensitivity

    Here's the scale for using 50uv = S9. This will allow you to see how linear your meter is. S9 = 50 S8 = 25 S7 = 13 S6 = 6.3 S5 = 3.2 S4 = 1.6 S3 = .79 S2 = .40 S1 = .20 (If using 100uv = S9, the output would be doubled for each). There's a lot of info like this on the web.

I think that once you reconnect R205 and disconnect D205 it will transmit.

    GE Superbase clarifier unlock

I know this is a bit late but I just saw it. The CB Secret book had a misprint. It should be disconnect D205 not R205. If one looks at the schematic R205 has nothing to do with the clarifier. Since there will be a constant voltage on the clarifier after connecting the wire to it, the TX only...
