    11 meter is very quiet?

Didn't have much time lately with work and all. I managed to log at least one contact from France. I got some other low signal in Saskatchewan but I couldn't catch his callsign. Then I ran out of time. On the other hand, I bit the bullet and finally unlocked the IC-7300 a short while ago. Me...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Last Sunday I brought the quad-6 into the car and rode off to western Quebec for an event. I took the Oka-Hudson ferry and had a contact from France in the middle of the Ottawa river. That was a first. Arriving on the other side I stopped for a coffee in this town called Rigaud and I snagged a...

    11 meter is very quiet?

I hear you. I'm lucky to work from home 3 days a week, so making a few contacts while sitting in front of the computer with the radio on the side is pretty easy. But on the other two, at the end of the day I ain't in much shape to be grabbing the microphone either. Band has been dead as...

    11 meter is very quiet?

I was aware of that channel, but I never got anything off of it for the few times I scanned it on FM. Maybe I should give it another shot! Otherwise, it looks like it's going to be another quiet day.

    11 meter is very quiet?

Sad to say, but conditions ain't right at the moment for 11 meters, from the great lakes towards the eastern seaboard. On the other hand, I'm getting some good local contacts. The 'ole gang comes out at night. Mostly...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Yesterday I had a QSO with a chap in Motera, Italy while I was driving around on highway 40. That was a nice surprise. Today looks like a geomag storm is interfering and things have quieted down on my end.

    11 meter is very quiet?

Was out and about in my car with the 980SSB on 27385 LSB earlier today and this guy from Amsterdam Netherlands was the strongest signal coming through. Didn't have much time for QSOs today, though. Otherwise there seems to be a bit less propagation around here, but conditions on paper still...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Rolling in this morning. I hear Germany and France on 385. Or maybe I should sing "I see London, I see France..." :sneaky:

    11 meter is very quiet?

Logged a contact near Helsinki, Finland on 27395 LSB, and Rouen, France 27660 USB afterwards. Conditions are starting to fade on my end, though.

    11 meter is very quiet?

Band is wide open. I'm east of Montreal and plenty of stations are blowing smoke on my station. Logged a few easy contacts. 73

Old School vs New School CBs: Which do you like ??

Very much the same points that steers me to newer gear. That and I also like to freeband. But I have to admit, the thought of putting a DDS into my D858 President Washington sounds appealing.

Old School vs New School CBs: Which do you like ??

Hah, well at least I use my newfangled radio with an old tug8 D104. Still sounds great with the original crystal.

Old School vs New School CBs: Which do you like ??

The Quad 6 pro is my go-to since January. My old 2-button President Washington is gathering dust.
