Thanks Andy, I’m going to a few better pictures 0f it this weekend. The radio is pretty much stock believe it or not, other than various repairs that were made to it over the years.it even still has the 8734 pll in it, so it was never channel modded. none of the switch wiring has been hacked up...
Well I was able to get the radio txing with modulation now, by pulling tr24. First thing I did was change c18, then through searching I found an old thread where someone’s radio had the exact same symptoms as mine, on there radio tr26 ended up being bad, so I’m going to pull it and test it.
Good question, I’m not knowledgeable enough to know the answer.
But if there’s something I can do on my end,in my own propert to eliminate I’m more than willing to try it, before I go try and talk to them, I also might go and attend the next monthly local ham club meeting, I know I can get...
Also it makes rfi 24/7 what ever it is, that actually is making the noise is for sure related to there pool. What ever it is, is on all the time. From what little reading I’ve done your not supposed to run the pump 24/7.
Idk I will try and look over the fence they have a tall wooden privacy fence but I will get on a ladder and see what I can see. I don’t know anything about pool equipment, and very little about ac electricity. All I know is my noise issues are coming from there pool equipment. Because they had...
The pump doesn’t squeal like a bearing is bad it just is not very quiet. Or it’s probably normal. But it puts of rfi electrically noisey. Do you know anything about how to make them quite.
I found a eham thread about pool pump noise.... non of it will do me any good though. Unless I get the fcc to fine them $16000 a day for everyday they operate the pump lol.
To me it’s way worse for a neighbor to be causing the noise. If it was my own pool I would just cut up all the wiring and...
Thanks nomad and lc, when I get some time I will try the picture method you mentioned.
Will the pics I uploaded enlarge if you click on the file part of it?
I guess the short answer is don’t have a swimming pool or live near anybody that does.
Atleast you own the pump and can switch it off when ever you want.
I’m just totally at the mercy of the people who live directly behind me. I think the idea that I could somehow get the fcc to do something...
I did a little more research, and it seems to be common knowledge that variable speed pool pumps create rfi, apparently the fcc has fined people over incidental radiators. The noise is not that bad until I get above channel 20. With the pump turned off I have about a s2 noise level all across...
How does one actually put this into practice.... they will instantly think your a weirdo when you come knocking on the door as mr radio rf spectrom police... I think there has to be a way to go about this using a bit of diplomacy.... but I think that, it is good advice, to not also mess with...
I hear yeah man if it was up to me I would be living on a dirt road where the next neighbor is a mile away, but trying to convince your wife to live way out in the country is another matter altogether. I want to live so far out that it’s scary at nite because your hear coyotes and bigfoots...
Yes the motor/ pump is creating rf noise, I do not know anything about swimming pools other than that even if I was a multi billionaire i would not want one in my backyard
