right now i am fresh out of bd179's

39 volts high enough to short TR9 blow out r29? and why do i get 26 ac volts in to bridge and 39 dc out? Taking filter caps out of line i get 26 AC in to bridge and 31 DC out, where is the voltage drop i should see a crossed the didoes?

I have noticed the voltage on R29 is at 38.6 volts, is that any where near the correct voltage? The voltage right out of the bridge is 39 volts.

I used the mica ..ever run up on that schematic? thanks

Found that board was bowed putting a diode to ground fixed that used my last bd179 was working till i keyed up poofed another 1 ohm and the bd179 not gonna order more from the uk and wait weeks i toss in the towel on this basket case. IMO if you run a crossed a station 550 or klv 550 base amp...

False alarm the 1 ohm went open again lol parts or repair sale coming up to much time onto this for me a few more times and ill toss it in. So far tr9 again or some thing near it drawing r29 to close to ground

Well it is back working now i am at the bias issue once again

got the right parts but r29 cooked again these amps are junk from the start as far as i am concerned

Not long ago i put a v quad for a friend they are very out of balance we had to put bolts through the boom plate and boom to stop it from spinning and it still sagged, The new version was not the easiest to build and put up due to it not having any counter balance and stringing the wire through...

Let's hope this works out all most a rebuild. No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...but a large number of electrons were put to their death.

Found the BD179's for 15 shipped for 2 of them at Cricklewood Electronics Ltd I will try those when they come in

Remove C53 and solder it across C59,,,,, was a swing mod not sure about C54

All the radios I looked at had L33 in schematic mine isn't in there I am trying to track down why it throws such a wide signal. If your on say CH20 you will be heard and receive on 18 19 20 21 22 with 20 being the strongest.

The radio rx;s and tx;s 2 or 3 channels from center I noticed L33 is missing or was never put in can not seem to track it down. Thing about it is it sounds perfect just lower signal as you get father from center freq radio is on.

The fix for this is: use a 10K resistor and a 4148 diode, the banded end of the diode point towards the audio chip. A shout out to shawn

just sold a parts one it was a squire 100 it used 2 MRF455's
