    No I don’t believe so. Swr is near flat to 1.3 across the band, I talk all over with no problems. I make contacts that friends can’t make on their fiberglass sticks. It seems all good!

    Mark 3 mic resistor

    Does changing the value of the internal resistor on the microphone line do anything to the audio? I have read that increasing it to 100 K over the stock 47K has some benefit

    Any idea why someone would put another 250 ohm in parallel with the one you show? That’s what I have. What would this do? Should I remove it?

    Sonar 2340 Audio Tube Swap

    I personally think it makes them sound fuzzy around the edges when you do that. My sonar sounds great with an amplified d104 straight into the radio, it sounds even better with a stock one through a Demco. ( that seems to be the general consensus on how to run a sonar)

    So, I have read a lot about the meter pegging with modulation on a Mark three. What causes this? I have read that it could be the mode selector switch. I have inspected mine and I do not see any signs of traces, such as the carbon deposits people talk about. Doesn’t mean they are not there, but...

    Mark 3 tube swap

    Nomad, so I tried a 12at7 in place of the 12au7 in both my mk3 and mk2. The audio got louder. Why? This is contrary to what you said in the above post.
