Yeah I got a good mic on it. I have the external speaker on. I still get the “pop” when the radio powers on. Last I checked it was still transmitting. This is my first radio I’m trying to fix myself with minimal tools and just a dosy meter. Gotta learn some how.

I have an old Philippine Uniden pc76xlw with no audio at all. I’m thinking I need to get an audio chip. I can’t tell which one it is. Anybody know which one is needed?

I bought an antenna earlier thinking it was a maco V58 but, I guess folks are calling it a 0-5 or something. Either way I put it on a short pole to set the SW and it seems to work well. I took it back down for weather proofing. What kind or grade of silicone should I use to keep rain out?

I currently run a Shakespeare big stick on a 30 foot tower. Radio swings 30 watts. The locals can hear me but I’m just a bit quiet. I was thinking a tiny amp to get me out there. I don’t wanna be overly loud. I live in the thumb of Michigan so everyone roughly 50 miles out or less.

I have a connex 3300hp. Ive been told this is a “high output radio” and need a “high output amp”. I’m don’t remember the reason why but, apparently any other normal amp will not work with it. What should I look for? I don’t want anything crazy but, currently the locals can barely hear me.
