Need D104 mic wiring 4 pin to Cobra GTL 2000 5 pin

I have a D104 mic old 4 pin and I need to wire this up to a Cobra GTL 2000 5 pin plug . Can the shield and the the common wire be tied together since I only have a 4 wire cable on this D104 or do I need to run a new cable I am kind of unsure at this point. On my D104 Mic the colors are red...
