I stand corrected. I checked the Cobra website, and it does have the weather alert feature. If this is the case, why would it be shorter one time than the other? Also, why would it sound like bad feedback coming from a sound stage?

No weather alert feature, just the weather channels. One time, it did it for about 1-2 seconds. Today it lasted for about 5 seconds.

I ended up going with a Wilson 1000 mag mount antenna with the 39" short load whip. I got my SWR down to about 1.2 on channels 1 and 40. On channel 20, the needle on my SWR meter barely moves. Now, when I get the money, the 29 is off to preacherman!

I have some electrical contact cleaner. I am going to see if I can clean it tonight, and see where that gets me.

The SWR only fluctuates on the 29 LTD Classic. It does not do it on my seperate meter, nor on the 29 WXNWST. Yes. I turned the mic gain all the way down.
