    Ranger RCI 2950DX

CDX8412, when I run mobile I run the radio directly to the battery and when I have it on the desk at home I'm using a 55-Amp power supply @ 13.6 volts so I don't believe that is the issue. Since I bought the radio used, it's hard telling what's been done to it. I think for some "DUMB" reason...

    Ranger RCI 2950DX

I bought a used RCI 2950DX, on "AM" this radio screams, but on Sideband the Modulation is very poor and I'm also having a problem with the lights "Flickering" while I'm transmitting on Sideband. I have no idea what was done to the radio before I bought it, but it seems like it is set up well for...

    rci 2970 - troubled

Honda316, DTB is probably right about the 8-volt regulator and if it's only a bad solder-joint than your lucky. The reason being is that those 8-volt regulators are notorious for heating up and going bad, so keep an eye on it. 73 Jim

If you want a simple BUT "compact" beam and fairly inexpensive, a 2-Element Quad will give you a lot of bang for your buck. Do...

    galaxy dx95t vs. cobra 200gtldx

I had the Cobra 148 GTL-F DX model, it was "JUNK", it DRIFTED worse than any other radio that I've owned. I traded a Grant-XL for the Cobra, that was a big mistake. I've talked on Galaxy radios, both base and mobile, but I never liked any of the Galaxy radios personally, although the one and...
