    Thanks for the link and the replies guys... I still wonder where FM would take me/where I can talk? As Captain Killowatt said, stay under 28.000 MHz. I comprehend that fine. But where will the FM put me if used?

    CB radio shops in NJ in the 70's 80's & 90's

    I don't know if he's still around, but at exit 5 in Maybrook, New York on the road to the TA travel center, there's a guy called Bladerunner who I heard over the years does some work on them. Not sure as I said, if he's still around or not. CB repairmen are a dying breed. It's a shame too.

    General Lee sound problem. I narrowed my problem down to it being the excessive temperature produced from the defrosters, as the radio is mounted just above the ducts. Yesterday I ran the external speaker for 12 hours, with the defrosters not blasting hot air towards the radio, and never lost...
