    Uniden 980 SSB

    I was looking at the 980 for ssb. I have the 680 and the channel knob skips channels a lot when scrolling through. It feels toy like. Its bad enough that i get pissed when changing channels. I like the radio other than this. Is this a problem on the 980?

    Dual final mod on a DX959? Thoughts?

    I had R&R add a second final and comp tune to my DX919 as I didn't want to run an amp either. The radio is loud, clear, and covers some distance. The only difference is the heat-sync on the back. Pricier than a small amp, but is exactly what I wanted.
