When you're on a frequency, hold the "F" button (lower right) for 2 seconds. The bottom options will change. Use the T-Freq option to set the tone. Brian N5BRJ

When you're in normal Band Scan, it's always muted (as far as I can tell). If you want to listed while you use Band Scan, then you must put the display in single VFO mode. To accomplish this, first hold the FWD or BCK button for 2 seconds. This will put the radio in single VFO display...

You certainly can listen to Air Band on both VFO at the same time.
