My CB is the same as my truck, once I start the motor I turn on the CB. I don't shut either down until I return from my run (except when I'm in the back sleeping the CB gets shut down). About 98% of the time I stay on 19, ton's of drivers still talk back and forth to one another, it's cheap...

Thanks for the help guy's, I'm going to pick up the meter recommended from Radio Shack.

I got my SWR's on 1,20 & 40 tuned to where the needle barely bumps on the (1) on the meter. I am using the coax that came with the Wilson 1000. As I said before it's walking and talking to my likings.

I guess there's not many truck drivers on here ................... Anywho I got the antenna tuned nicely. This set up is working great. I was getting out loud and clear 10+ miles on the highway yesterday on my run to Lafayette and back.

Thank you "The Jerk", that's what I was looking for. I'm just getting started and am not looking for the biggest and best equipment. The SWR meter I picked up at Fry's a while back only does SWR for tuning antennas. I'll swing by the local Radio Shack when I get a chance. I am not into base...

What's a good meter to gauge what my CB is putting out (watts) ??? I'm just getting started in this game, learning to mod and work on the radio I have for my truck.

Thanks for all the reply's boys. I'm new to modding CB's, learning slowly but surely. I'm going to leave this Cobra 29 RFX 75 alone and see how it does, I finally got it installed today after it sitting on the bench for a couple weeks.

Anyone else running this set up in a truck ??? How do you like it, do you get walked on a lot ??? I just installed one in my truck, need to tune the Wilson 1000 antenna tomorrow before I head out for my next load.

I am running the above mentioned radio. What linear amp would work well with my radio set up to get another 100-150 Watts ??? This will be going in a truck FYI. Thanks for your help:thumbup:
