Price change. Looks like the price has jumped up to $95 shipped. Not really worth it to me now. When prices drop or they release a dual-band version I'll be interested again.

I had planned on ordering one of these but I wound up finding a new 20 watt UHF amplifier for $30 shipped so I got it. I figure I'll use that with one of my portables for a while instead. I'll wait a little bit longer before getting a VV-808 to see if any other manufacturers start competing...

Same here. Sure, you can find old commercial radios on Ebay for $20 each but they are usually old there's not much info available about them online. You also have to factor in the cost of programming cables. Motorola cables are cheap and easy to find, but cables for Maxons or other radios...

Did she say why they couldn't ship it via epacket? The listing on Aliexpress still shows epacket as the shipping method for US orders. Did the programming cable and microphone increase the shipping cost or something?

Interesting. That definitely reeks of a scam to me. I wonder how much the cost will go up by having to ship by FedEx instead. Hopefully everything will work out, but I have my doubts. That's why I didn't order one yet even though I really wanted to.
