Yeah, I think you nailed it. As for grinding down the center conductor. I thought about that. I'm going to use about 40' of this stuff when I get my antenna up. Thanks guys.
I checked and there aren't any holes or slots in it so I guess it's hard line. I did some more checking and it is 50 ohm. The center conductor is 3/16" thick. The dialectric isn't foam it's plastic (I guess). The cable itself is 5/8" diameter. I'm pretty sure it was used for tower hardline for...
Thanks guys, I didn't pay that much for it so I can probably get my money back just selling the copper alone. Thanks for the input. I'll watch out next time. (no loss).
I picked up some coax at a yard sale and can't find what the ohm value is. Somebody taped on a piece of RG-58 to the end of it (what a dork). I looked on the internet and can't find anything about it. The coax is about the same size as RG-8 but has a solid copper shield and the center conductor...
Yeah its a TUG8, already tried that. I just also noticed that when I turn the band switch it also pops in the speaker so I guess it's not the mic, but the radio. (Back to the drawing board). Thanks.
Harh, Harh; I've tried emule and shareaza, came up with nothing. I know it's out there somewhere. I could use some kind of link somewhere if anybody know's of one.
Does anyone know where I can get some specs.- pictures - illustrations on how to make a Hairpin for a 4 element 11 meter beam? Even an antenna design program with the Hairpin in it. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find a good one that will show you how to do it, not just talk about it...
I have a D104 hooked to my Pearce Simpson Cheetah. Does anyone know how to get rid of the pop in the speaker when you unkey and/or key. I tried a diode across the TX/RX relay but it didn't work. Thanks
I'd sure like to see a better picture or illustration of the match with measurements so I can make one for the Maco M104C I'm building. I've looked all over and can't seem to find anything.
I'll check it out and see if there's some kind of silicon or plastic spray on colored coating. That would be nice, to keep your antenna from oxidizing. I'll give it some more thought.
