I started not sleeping well about 30 years ago. Mostly, had trouble with falling asleep and waking early. After spending hours of research time, I began taking 2mg of melatonin every night 1/2 hour before bedtime and not watching TV in bed. It worked, so I kept it up. After about 5 or 6 years I...
I looked forever until I stumbled upon this guy. Can't remember the part number. Like a dumbass, I didn't write it down. On the good side, He DOES have what you need and is very prompt with email questions. I THINK, this is the one you need. It is a take-off, but comes with fresh pins: CB3PP-FP...
I got hold of some of those new, fresh plugs and used 8ga. It wasn't easy and took a bit of surgery inside the plug to allow the insulation to fit, but I made up a few of them. They worked perfectly and went from dropping more then .6V to only dropping .2v or so. I understand that it isn't much...
I know this doesn't meet the normal consensus, but my Stryker 955 is idled at 14.5V, and on AM using a 10W deadkey it used to drop to 13.9V. After building an 8GA power wire, the voltage now holds at 14.3, even during modulation. Take that for whatever it means.
I've not really checked mine accurately. But, I have a meter that shows about 47A when using SSB. I never use it on AM so I cannot tell you about the dead pull. I've got a clamp-on meter and when I fire it up today I'll hit it hard and get a quick peak on it for you.
I currently use 3 of the 50A models because the 50A are made to be ganged without an external current sharing circuit. I use two in parallel for my DX-500 and a single one for my radio.
Thanx for the QSO, Brother!! You sounded great up here but mother nature had other plans. We're in the middle of a sleet/rain/snow storm and everyone s fading in and out. I'm sure we'll do it again. Hopefully with better conditions!
I'll be on 35 and up this evening if the conditions are good. I usually go up as high as .445 and skip around to see what is going on. I'll be on and off starting at about 3pm Eastern til about 7:30.
If you had a 10' or 12' C Band dish it would seem to me that mounting a whip across the diameter of the dish would make it directional, no? Would probably be a hell of a job to get the match down.
I love my DX-500. The audio reports I get are stellar and people are thinking I'm using studio equipment. People are amazed that I'm using a Stryker and a Texas Star.
It's a bit intimidating at first glance. But keeping with only the power and modulation settings it's fairly easy to navigate. If you switch between AM and SSB like I do, it's easy to coordinate the power settings so that you need not adjust the power out put levels when switching modes. For...
