Thank you, the one I got needs some work, but thought maybe between two I could put together one that's usable. Even if not, I enjoy tinkering on them and learning about these radios!
Hey guys! I was finally able to find both these radios. The 95T2 is in great shape and looks to be unmodified, just what I wanted! I can't wait to start using it.
The Cobra 200 GTL I got needs a little bit of love. The faceplate and bezel are decent but I would like better. Does anyone have a...
Sommerkamp, I'm interested! Shoot me a PM please, or email me at ihv800@yahoo.com, thanks!
I know the Cobra 200's aren't the highest regarded radio, but I've always wanted one just for the sake of having it. Not afraid to work on one if need be. I'm surprised what they bring on eBay considering...
Hey all,
I'm looking to buy a Galaxy DX 95T2 and a Cobra 200 GTL. Looking for radios in good condition. Cosmetically is a must (not expecting perfection, just nice units) and also looking for good working units, though that's not a must as I like to tinker on things, but the price must reflect...
Looking to purchase a good condition Magnum S9. Either an early one with bipolar 1969 transistors or later with mosfets would be okay. I would also be interested in the S-980 and S-9175 models, if priced reasonably. Let me know what you've got!
That's very interesting, I have not heard of that aspect, but it makes a lot of sense. I'm guessing that impedance issue is the reason good SWR is critical in a mosfet radio. Good info, thanks for sharing everyone. The differences make much more sense now!
Fantastic info, thanks for sharing guys, just what I was looking to find out! I understand about the SWR being a bigger concern with mosfets, but could you go into a little more detail on the issue of impedance mismatch?
I've read lots of people having similar thoughts to that. By handling peoples golden screwdrivers, you mean the 1969's coped better when the radio was tuned for more output? Or coped better with improper tuning? Thanks for the input!
Hey guys, I'm interested in getting into a Magnum S9. Used looks to be the only way to go, and I'm seeing that the earlier models used bipolar 1969 finals, newer models used mosfets. I've done a lot of reading on this, but do not fully understand the good and bad between them. Seems some guys...
