    11 meter is very quiet?

@FlyBoy50 Talked to a guy in Northern Washington state last year, the day after Christmas. He was talking on a 980 with a wireless microphone that his wife bought for him. He walked all the way to his mailbox, and I could hear him crystal clear while using the Uniden wireless microphone. Brand...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Skip in the states has been booming here in western NC for about a week now on LSB. Jumped up to the international call channel last night about 11 pm EST, and had a QSO with 201DA101 French Polynesia at 5/7. My Antron 99 working it. More than likely it was the other guy's antenna, a 5 element...

    Dumb ???? #4 (robust antenna)

120 mph wind...wow. That's as strong as a F2 tornado. Had a F1 tornado, at wind speed 105 mph, come high above my home, and it bent a Sirio four element like cooked spaghetti noodles. 1.25 inch inside diameter galvanized pipe at 21 feet stayed straight. The pipe is slightly over 1 5/8 inch...

    Coax, null or not?

Saw a video about your point #2. Using RG-213 coax. 492/27.205=18.0949 18.0949×.66=11.9360 feet Use multiples of two. In some of the old CB antenna instruction manuals regarding RG-213 coax, I have read to use 12 foot jumpers, and multiples of two from antenna to radio.

Steel Guy Wire or Dyneema Rope

Niteize has came out recently with a better one, I think, than the one you linked. I have used both, and I like the SlideLocks the best. https://niteize.com/camjam-slidelock-rope-tightener

    11 meter is very quiet?

Have to hunt the WebSDR.org. I get a lot of French stations, so I have been using Bordeaux Freebands to hear my station. Just click record. You will figure it out! Link below to the one I have the best luck. http://freebands.websdrbordeaux.fr:9000/

Workman W58 Not Really A 5/8 Wave Antenna?

I did have the RF connection sealed with Scotch 33, and coax seal on top of that. Used coax seal where the wire from the ring loop attaches to the RF connection. Did not use anything on the other end of the wire that comes from the ring loop. Probably should have done that. Can the copper...

Workman W58 Not Really A 5/8 Wave Antenna?

OK that sounds good about the Workman. I took down my Maco V58 for one reason. Every time it rained it would de-tune downward in frequency by lots. Otherwise, it worked great. Just wondering if the Workman will de-tune with rain?

Contact with 65 division Sierra Leone today!

I heard him last weekend, but he was low on my receive, but was coming up. Just checked his logs, and yes he heard me. I heard him about 4/4, but another station kept calling him, and stepping on his signal, so I never did get my signal report. Signal to noise ratio is awesome on a Delta...

    Northern Cook Is now active...

Made the contact with 249DA/0 yesterday from western NC. I was 5/5, and Giovanni was 5/4 to 5/6. My Gain-Master 5/8 is getting more Pacific stations than I have ever had with any other antenna. Down below is the link to Giovanni's 249DA/0 adventure. https://www.delta-alfa.com/activities/249da-0/

Looking to Buy a NICE AND MINTY Kenwood TS 50S

Back early Spring of this year, I was having QSO's on 11 meter USB from a station on the Canary Islands, and his TS-50 sounded good...very punchy too.
