Thanks for all the information on the amps. I really do appreciate it. I’m just getting back into the radio world after 40 years. Amps are new to me so I’m doing my best to understand what I need to do before making bad decisions. I’ve already bought a pair of kl 203’s overdriven them ...
I’ll be driving it with a galaxy dx2547 that dead keys 2 watts and swings 25 I think that should be ok not to blow it up! It seems the kl703 needs more amps then the TS.... lm still on the fence....
I’m considering buying an amp for my base station. I’m looking at the Texas Star dx 500v and the RM Italy kl 703 I can’t decide the Texas with DEI or HG transistors or go with a mosfit amp like the RM
Any input is appreciated!
With dk turned down and amp on I’m getting 30 watts dk and 90 on the swing. Amp is not getting hot I do have a fan mounted on top of the amp. We will see what happens....
Thanks for the reply! Yeah I disconnected the radio as soon as I saw what it was doing! I guess I’ll just order another amp and just play around with this one with an old radio I have. I really don’t need to blow up my new Galaxy 979F lol I don’t know much about amps so this will be a learning...
I have an RM Italy 203 that I must have overdriven. I found a blown capacitor and have replaced it. Now when I key the mic I loose reception and the power meter on my radio pins until I turn the amp off..... anyone have a clue what would cause this? Perhaps a relay? Thanks for any input!
