The monitor on the left services the RTL-SDR.COM V3 dongle that is mostly used for FM and BCB-DX. The monitor on the right services an Airspy RSP1A used mostly for HF and VHF/UHF scanning. Now the little monitor under the big one is the control head for the Uniden SDS100 that I keep locked on...
I went with the SDS100, it's a snap to set up out of the box... if you want to scan so much you never hear anything. It really shines when you take the time to learn how to use the favorites. There is a steep learning curve, but still, it's not a radio I'll outgrow anytime soon.
The Walmart in Chehalis, WA uses straight up FRS. I've used it a couple of times to say, "We need all available cashier's to the front end." When there are 10 people in each line and only two cashiers, I don't feel the least bit guilty doing that, especially when they are using FRS.
