That surface mount diode has a test pad between it and the cap it connects to so I used that pad so as not remove any surface mount stuff by accident. FYI.

Here it is with a pot! I used a 1k ohm pot and you can hit the modulation sweet spot from 0-100 on the power knob. One you set your dead key with the RF power knob, you adjust the swing mod knob for max modulation at that dead key and POW!

Don't know yet. I just got back into this a few months ago. The Quad 5 is the only radio I have right now. Hopefully money gets right and I can start purchasing again. I liked this one because it's not as heavily menu driven as the others are. You have more knob control. Main factor for me.
