Above my pay grade, and i never saw it so i honestly don't know.
But i do know that the pic above was specifically taken at the request of another forum, and it's obvious it was stolen and cropped so not to give credit where it is due
They don't QUITE do what the older ones do...but for your average user no one will ever see the difference...as far as the display, mine has been turned on 24-7 on the base for over 2 months and is working fine
Junk...i would go into why but i've had these arguments elsewhere and i'll just keep the reasons to myself...but compare the insides of one of his amps to a QUALITY amp built on sound RF theory and youll see the difference in the details
as long as pillplopper didn't fool with the MM any the MM should hold the 16 fine... as he just buys them from either Tony @FB or Carl @ XF anyway (ON EDIT...i have seen ones he relabeled, but after visiting his website i see they are stripped down copies, i'd be happy to show ya what a better...
you are correct..but this particular amp has one in it so i was just adding some information to the discussion
if the OP worried about class of amplifier he'd be looking at texas stars and not something claiming to do 700W at voltage most guys don't run anyway
Fatboy case but he sells cases to half the universe.. wire coloring isn't right for FB's (this info i got from a couple of Tony's builders)
Nothing really wrong with a 1446 driver, it has the same output as a 2290 but requires less drive to achieve it (i.e.higher gain) so something like a Cobra...
pedestal mount off the side of the console or mounted to the console....other thing i don't remember many mentioning is on the dashboard is inviting theives, you can see that sitting on the dash from a ways away
Debs has the Customer Service for sure, and to me Debs Decals just fit better...every one i have ever used from her fit EXACTLY the way it should, just like it were from the factory, one of the ones i got from dewnut was a tiny bit smaller than the faceplate surround and it looked like there was...
I think Shockwave and Marconi are on to something in regards to your situation Homer....the only other thing i can think of that might possibly affect things is IIRC you wrapped the hoop (pvc or HDPE i think)in foil tape...this alone may not be the answer but maybe in combination with some of...
true but remember SWR is a RATIO
my favorite along these lines is installing a LPF reduces output power..my typical response is "no moron, it shows what you're really doing minus happy meter harmonics"
thanks guys, exactly the info i was looking for, i'm on the east coast so we CAN get crazy weather but it's not a "regular" occurrence...but neither is 20 tornadoes in April like this year...i was leaning towards the V4K based on the info provided here, but to be honest there are SO many threads...
Ok the V4000 has 4 radials but there are no overall lengths given in the manual other than the approximate lentgh of the main...all other measurements are given off of a set point such as a joint, etc
OAL for the V4K is 8480mm or 27.82'
OAL for the LW150 is at 31.17' but has 3 radials
i'm...
the reason you don't hear about the K40 is because the Wilsons beat the pants off them and offer more power handling capability, the only competitor to the K30 is the lil wil and i'll take a K30 over the lil wil, but both are extremely narrowbanded
you are experiencing what everyone with a K30 experiences...Narrow Bandwidth...just the nature of the beast
if you talk on 19 all the time...use it, if you plan on talking say below channel 10 or so or above channel 30...i'd consider the Wilson as previously mentioned
the new 2970N2 has an improved receiver, and that pretty sweet new display
i have always preferred a radio/amp combo, so if for some reason the amp dies you can still run the radio barefoot but i may sell my 2970 i run as a base for that N2
i have read all of those and am quite familiar with Homer's work and yours...and NO i really don't have a ton of room to work with, band saw, metal working tools etc currently in storage i have my yard to erect it and tune it so.. again i have the room to erect it and tune it but do not...
I think my brain is leaking out of my ears after trying to absorb all of this
I definitely want to play with one of these antennas, so here is my question, all things considered..which one should i buy and play with? i guess which one will give me the largest room for adjustment? i've thought...
