Thanks for your help. The info I rceived from the cable supplier saaid I just had to plug in the send cable and the alc cable and it would work but it did not.I will keep plugging away with it. Thaanks

I think it is keyed on the PTT line. The manual says
3. CONTROL VOLTAGE is 12 Volts, used for pulling in the TX/RX relay and gives the LED the control condition of the amplifier.
